méxico. vivo en un hermoso país: su tierra es hermosa, su gente es hermosa, su cultura es hermosa, su arte, su historia... su historia?
sabemos que no hay un legado legítimo, al menos en códices, de la historia antigua de méxico. en el siglo quince, tlacaélel (el de corazón varonil), hermano de chimalpopoca y moctecuhzoma ilhuicamina es nombrado cihuacótal o consejero supremo del naciente imperio mexica. por inspiración suya "se borran los antiguos escritos que hacían referencia al humilde pasado mexica y se reescribe la historia haciéndolos emparentar con la esplendorosa cultura tolteca y otorgando a los propios mexica una base ideológica para justificar y fomentar la conquista de los pueblos vecinos."*
un siglo después, fray bernardino de sahagún manda quemar los códices imperiales y los reescribe, trasladando las versiones fonéticas a versiones literarias.
pero no hablemos del pasado remoto, sino de un pasado reciente. hablemos de un pasado que sigue siendo presente pues no se ha hecho justicia aún pero esta puede aparecer a la vuelta de la esquina, como una prostituta mal pagada que espera a su siguiente cliente: así es la justicia en méxico.
el pasado jueves dieciséis la suprema corte de justicia de la nación determinó que el delito de genocidio que se le imputa al ex presidente luis echeverría álvarez por la matanza de estudiantes del diez de junio de mil novecientos setenta y uno no ha prescrito.
será que se llevará al banquillo al ex funcionario, no para culparlo (eso deberá de ser probado) sino, al menos para que tenga un juicio. todos los mexicanos tenemos derecho a un juicio justo y si esto ocurre en el caso del asesino, perdón (aún no es "culpable"), del ex funcionario echeverría, la justicia en méxico comenzará a ver una luz que aparece lejana a nuestros ojos.
de ser así veremos no sólo el juicio de un ex presidente, sino veremos el juicio de un sistema que por aquellos tiempos se fundamentaba en la anti democrática tarea de reprimir a la sociedad con su peculiar manera: asesinatos. de ser así, no sería también necesario juzgar a todos aquellos que, no sólo participaron, sino que nada dijeron contra el sistema represor? si alguien con la calidad moral de juan pablo segundo pidió perdón en nombre de la iglesia por haberse hecho de la vista gorda en la segunda guerra mundial, alguien con el alto prestigio moral de miguel nazar haro, ex jefe de policía de aquel entonces habría de hacer algo similar, mínimo...
este sería un gran paso dentro de la naciente democracia mexicana, de la poco favorecida justicia. podríamos empezar con luis echeverría álvarez y después continuar con todos aquellos que han saqueado y masacrado a nuestro país dentro de nuestros propios muros. recordando a cierto jocoso personaje de nuestra actual política, quien juró sobre la biblia (seguro lo hizo en privado, como en aquel entonces sólo era candidato a la presidencia, no le hubiesen permitido hacer eso en el congreso, como cuando recibió en la toma de posesión la banda presidencial de manos del saliente presidente zedillo y de manos de sus hijos un cristo crucificado...) que iba a llevar al banquillo a carlos salinas de gortari (curioso que antes de termianr su sexenio el hermano del ahora citado esté en libertad bajo fianza, después de haberse hecho millonario con dinero ajeno, y, obvio, mal habido).
somos todos mexicanos, aunque unos disten mucho de ser parte de la hermosura que tiene la gente de este hermoso país. señor echeverría álvarez: tenga usted la edad que tenga, permítame decirle que espero se haga justicia. no quiero que lo culpen, sólo que tenga usted el más justo de los juicios... usted y este hermoso país lo necesitan.

we know there is no real legacy, at least not in "codices", about mexican ancient history. in the fifteenth century, tlacaelel (the one with male heart), brother of chimalpopoca and moctecuhzoma ilhuilcamina is asigned cihuacotal or supreme counsellor of the early formed mexican empire. by its inspiration "ancient scripts that refer to the humble mexican past where erased and are re writen, making them relate to the magnificent toltec culture and giving the mexica an ideological base to justify and promote the conquest of all the neighbour villages."*
a century after, fray bernardino de sahagún burns the imperial "codices" and re writes them, trnaslating the fonetic versions to literary ones.
but lets not speak about the remote past, but from the recent. lets talk about a past that remains being present, because justice hasn't being done yet but can appear at the other side of the corner, like a not well payed whore waiting her next client: that's mexico's justice.
last thursday, sixteenth, the supreme court determined that the genocide crime, attributed to the ex president luis echeverría álvarez for the murderer of students the 10th of june of 1971, has not prescribed.
would the ex president seat on the blame's seat, not to be found guilty (that's to be proved), but to, at least, have a trial.
all mexicans have the right of a fair trial and, if this happens in this particular case of the butcher, sorry (he's still not "guilty"), of the ex president
echeverria, mexico's justice cuald start to see a distant light.
if this is it we will nos only see a trial to an ex president, but a trial to a hole system that fundamented its anti democratic repressing job on its peculiar way: murdering. if this is it, it would be necesary to judge, not only those who participated, but those who didn't say anything to the repressing system. if someone with the moral quality of johannes paul II asked for forgiveness for the catholic church on doing nothing in world war II, someone with the highly moral prestige of miguel nazar haro, ex police chief from those times could do something similar, at least...
this wolud be a great step on the recent mexican democracy, on the poor justice. we could start with luis echeverria alvarez and continue with all those who have plundered and massacred our country within our own walls. remembering a funny character of our actual politics, who sweared on the bible (surely he did this in private, cuase in those times he was only president candidate, he wolud not be permited to do that on the congress, as when he recieved the presidential band from former president zedillo and, from his kids hands, a crucifix) that he was going to put ex president carlos salinas de gortari (its curious how before ending its period as president, the brother of salinas has been set free on bail, after being acussed on illicit enrichement).
we are all mexicans, although some are truly distant from being part of the beautiful people form this beautifu country. mr. echeverria alvarez: altohugh you have an elderly age i just want to say to you that i want justice. i don't want you to be found guitly, but to have the most just from all the trials...
you and this beautiful country needs it.
